What Advice Do You Have For A Newbie? Part 8: H.O.M.E. S.C.H.O.O.L.

Part 8: H.O.M.E.S.C.H.O.O.L.

This is an acronym I came up to help me remember a few things. I hope it helps.

The “Home” part directs us to our vertical relationship with Jesus while the “School” part is about our horizontal relationship with our family.

H-Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord
O-Offer up yourself, your family and your expectations
M-Meditate on His word that we might not sin against Him
E-Exalt Jesus in everything with the understanding it’s not
about the here and now.

S-Sanctify them in truth; Thy word is truth
C-Care for their needs- yes educationally but also spiritually,
physically and emotionally
H-Honestly estimate their gifts and abilities
O- Operate in the power of the Holy Spirit
O- Operate in order (minimize chaos)
L- Love them unconditionally (as the Lord loves us)
