What Advice Do You Have For A Newbie? Part 5: Be Flexible


Part 5: Don’t be afraid to change things that don’t work if you really feel they need to be changed.

Honestly, before we started home schooling I thought I had to turn my house into a “school”. Once we started schooling I realized we weren’t a start promptly at 8:30am, sit at a desk, kind of family. Most home schoolers aren’t.

I wasn’t dogmatic about it. If the kids are excited about learning and can concentrate on the floor in front of the fireplace then great! The couch is good!

There are times when we need to be at a table. Math usually is a table subject. Mix it up a little.

Don’t forget to breathe.
